Abstract:
On June 19, 2014, the German government extradited an alleged Iraqi smuggler of humans to Australia where he is expected to face multiple charges relating to SIEV 185, a 20 meter-long Indonesian fishing vessel the Australian navy intercepted in 2010 with more than 50 persons on board who applied for asylum.
