Financing Terrorism: Afghanistan and the Haqqani

  In this article we introduce the reader to some basic concepts about the financing of terrorism.  The first part of the article, written by Professor Istvan Laszlo Gal of the University of Pecs, provides a general overview of terrorist financing.  The second part of the article, written by Professor James Park Taylor of University of Montana, provides a summary of terrorist financing in Afghanistan, with an emphasis on the financing of the Haqqani network, a prominent terrorist network in Afghanistan.
