FATF Plenary Addresses Issues of Foreign Terrorist Fighters and Financing and De-risking

On October 23, 2015, the Financial Action Task Force held a plenary meeting in Korea and addressed the foreign terrorist fighters threat, a report identifying emerging terrorist financing risk, a statement regarding de-risking, the endorsement of general principles to establish the Training and Research Institute (REIN), the expansion of the FATF global network by recognizing the Trak Force on Money Laundering in Central Africa GBAC) as an FATF-Style Regional Body, and the identification of jurisdictions with strategic anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism deficiencies.
