Abstract:
On December 22, 1986, The Israeli Supreme Court began the review of the extradition of a convicted Jewish murderer. William Nakash, who in France was sentenced to life imprisonment in absentia, fled to Israel to take advantage of the statute for Jewish returners, commonly called "The Law of Return." This statute guarantees every Jewish immigrant an initial right to enter Israel and to seek Israeli citizenship upon request.
