Abstract:
Mauricio Santoyo Velasco, the former commander of the Colombian National Police (CNP) anti-kidnapping and anti-terrorism unit, has been indicted by the United States for exporting cocaine to the United States during his time in office. Mr. Santoyo is also accused of accepting bribes from drug smugglers in return for tipping them off to counternarcotics operations.[1]
