On March 9, 2017, EUROPOL released its report, “SOCTA 2017: European Union Serious and Organized Crime Threat Assessment Crime in the age of technology”. This is the second edition of the SOCTA, following the inaugural edition released in 2013. The SOCTA 2017 delivers a set of recommendations based on an in depth analysis of the major crime threats facing the EU. It serves as the cornerstone of the EU Policy Cycle for Serious and Organized Crime. The Policy Cycle ensures effective cooperation between national law enforcement agencies, EU Institutions, EU Agencies and other relevant partners in the fight against serious and organized crime.
