In April 2017, the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs released a study on the legal frameworks for hacking by law enforcement. It was commissioned at the request of the European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE).
