Abstract:
On April 26, 1994, ministers responsible for the Schengen agreement, which embraces the Benelux countries, Germany, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, and Portugal, met in executive committee in Bonn to discuss the practical aspects of implementing the Schengen Agreement. Although no decision was taken on the enforcement of the Schengen Convention which was to come into force on January 1, 1993, the meeting was directed at the goal of permitting abolition of border controls.
