On September 16, 2008, European Commission officials held a meeting in Washington with their U.S. counterparts in both the executive [e.g., The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), U.S. Justice Department] and legislative branches on how to address allegations of European gambling companies that they are subject to discriminatory treatment in the U.S. in violation of the World Trade organization rules.
