EU Council Adopts Resolution for Cross-Border Sports Enforcement

On April 12, 2011, the European Union Justice and Home Affairs Council adopted a resolution to strengthen safety and cooperation at sporting events or large public gatherings. The resolution approves the handbook adopted by the Council on June 3, 2010, with recommendations for international police cooperation and measures to prevent and control violence and disturbances in connection with football matches with an international dimension, in which at least one EU Member is involved.
