Abstract:
With the efforts to complete the Single European Market, reports are that the German Government is beginning to support a strengthened police cooperation within the European Community. In particular, Chancellor Helmut Kohl has proposed a Europol, which would be an EC equivalent of Interpol. His proposal is motivated in part by the increased opporunities to criminals, especially organized crime and narcotics traffickers, due to the attainment of the Single European Market.
