Abstract:
On April 8, 2013, U.S. law enforcement officials announced that the Dominican Republic extradited Francisco Antonio Hiraldo-Guerrero, a former Dominican military official and former chief of operations for the Dominican national Directorate for Drug Control (“the DNCD”), on charges of conspiracy to import and distribute hundreds of kilograms of cocaine in the U.S. Hiraldo-Guerrero, a Dominican Republic citizen, arrived in the Southern District of New York on April 5, 2013 and was presented in U.S. Magistrate Court the following day.[1]
