Abstract:
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is taking the lead among lobbying groups representing various copyright industries in pushing for increased linkage between satellite signal "piracy" issues and overall U.S. trade and foreign policy in Central America and the Caribbean.  Major motion picture and television interests are becoming increasingly concerned about the loss of copyright revenue in the region, as a result of continued unauthorized interception of satellite signals containing copyrighted material.
