The conviction of former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos on two criminal corruption charges on September 24, 1993, raises the opportunity for the Philippine Government to facilitate the Marcos assets, many of which are believed to be in Switzerland and which are the subject of Swiss legal proceedings.
