On August 3, 2010, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) and the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against U.S. Treasury Department and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), challenging their refusal to grant a license that would allow the groups to sue the U.S. government’s authority to use lethal force against U.S. citizens located far from any battlefield without charge, trial, or judicial process of any kind...(more)...
