Abstract:
On June 6, 2012, the Brazilian Congress passed Draft Bill n. 209/03, which will implement major changes in Brazil’s anti-money laundering (AML) legislation and update its legal framework to that of EU countries and the FAFT Recommendations. Substantive and procedural new rules will bring Brazilian legislation to the third generation of AML legislation. The Bill awaits Presidential approval in the next days.
