On July 9, 2003, Brazilian President Lula enacted Law No. 10,071, which amended and added provisions to Law No. 9,613, of March 3, 1998, which provides on crimes of money laundering or of occultation of goods, rights and amounts, in addition to the prevention of the utilization of the financial system for the illegal acts provided by the Law.
