Abstract:
On November 17, 1993, the United State Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit revoked a 1986 extradition order against John Demjanjuk on the grounds that Justice Department attorneys committed “fraud on the court” when they accused him of being the notorious guard known as “Ivan the Terrible” at Nazi concentration camps. Although the order will not directly affect Demjanjuk’s status and the U.S. Government will still try to deport him, the order is significant as a precedent in future extradition cases…[more]
