Abstract: 
International enforcement issues were highlighted at a recent two-day program in Washington, D.C. entitled "Current Legal Issues in the Recording Industry-1987".  The program, which was sponsored by the American Bar Association Forum Committee on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, featured panels on parallel importation on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, featured panels on parallel importation in Gray Market copyrighted goods, international record piracy and counterfeiting, and new legislative developments in the fight to prohibit importation into the United States of Digital Audio Tape (hereinafter "DAT") machines capable of copying pre-recorded music onto blank DAT tapes.
