Panama Extradites Tax Offender to Israel

               On July 26, 2026, the Israel Tax Authority announced that, after almost two and a-half years of an international manhunt, Panama extradited Yaniv Moualem to Israel.  Israeli courts have convicted Moualem of tax fraud and money laundering.  He fled Israel during  during criminal proceedings against him.  A complex international enforcement operation headed by the Israel law enforcement authorities and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) succeeded in his extradition to Israel to continue the legal proceedings against him.
