Balancing the Protection of Human Rights with the Needs of Law Enforcement

On August 24-28, 1998, the Commonwealth Secretariat is hosting a conference, entitled Balancing the Protection of Human Rights with the Needs of Law Enforcement. The theme will be International Cooperation in Criminal Matters - Balancing the Protection of human rights with the needs of law enforcement. It will consider the development of international assistance in the administration of criminal justice at the bilateral and multilateral levels, including mutual assistance in criminal matters, extradition, and transfer of sentenced offenders.
