Abstract:
Indian-born Nazir Karigar was a former security systems executive for CryptoMetrics Canada, a subsidiary of the U.S. company CryptoMetrics Corporation. In 2005, Karigar became aware of Air India’s plans to buy technology that reduced passenger identification fraud. His role in winning the contract would distinguish him as the first individual charged, tried, convicted and imprisoned under the Canada’s anti-bribery law, the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA).
