Abstract:

On June 28, 2007, a U.K. court denied a U.S. extradition request for 77-year-old Stanley Tollman, a wealthy hotelier accused of bank fraud and tax evasion.  Tim Workman, Senior District Judge of the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, ruled that while the alleged revenue offenses were extraditable, the excessive delays in seeking Tollman’s extradition made it “unjust and oppressive” for him stand trial.1
