Abstract:
On March 23, 2006, the Uruguayan Supreme Court authorized the extradition of three military officials to Chile in a historical step. The officials are believed to have been involved in the assassination of Chilean chemist Eugenio Berríos in the 1990s. Chile has requested the extradition of Colonel Waldemar Sarli and Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Radaelli, and retired Colonel Tomás Casella, for illicit association and kidnaping.
