Abstract: 
On April 2, 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court denied petitions for writs of certiorari filed on behalf of approximately 40 detainees held at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, seeking to overturn a provision of the Military Commissions Act that deprives the detainees of the ability to challenge their detention before a federal district court. As a result of the Supreme Court’s denial, a two to one decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upholding the MCA’s habeas corpus provisions stands.
