Abstract:
On July 26, 2007, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit overturned the conviction of two individuals on conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine because it found they had committed no crime against the U.S. The court interpreted the statute not to reach conspiracies, which although carried out in part in the U.S., were designed to possess and distribute drugs outside of the territorial jurisdiction...[more]
