U.S. Appellate Court Gives Victory to International Human Rights on Mexican Abduction

On September 11, 2001, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit affirmed a district court decision that Humberto Alvarez-Machain (“Alvarez) could maintain his suit for abduction based on the fact that abduction is recognized under customary international law as a violation.
