On June 7, 2007, the BBC and the Guardian reported allegations that British defense contractor BAE paid Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan over £30 million in connection with a controversial defense contract. Under the disputed arrangement, the Al Yammah arms contract, BAE supplied arms and defense equipment to the Saudi Arabian government.
