On November 27, 2005, Senegal Foreign Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio announced that the Former Chadian leader Hissene Habre, wanted for crimes against humanity and torture, will be allowed to remain in Senegal until the African Union rules on the extradition request early in 2006.
