Sanction Aspects of the Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986

Economic sanctions were imposed against the Republic of South Africa on October 2, 1986 in the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986, (the "Act), ending the Reagan Administration's policy of "constructive engagement", a policy of passive encouragement of change in the South African governing system of Apartheid.
