On September 10, 2001, the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals issued an order extending indefinitely a 30-day stay issued by Oklahoma Governor Frank A. Keating who delayed Mexican national Valdez’s scheduled Aug. 30 execution for killing a man over a sexual advance.
