Abstract:
In a hearing held on October 17, 1985, by the Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees, and International Law, Committee on the Judiciary, House of Representatives, Neal Sher, Director, Office of Special Investigations (OSI), Criminal Division, Department of Justice, emphasized that his office was continuing its efforts against Nazi war criminals. Mr. Sher stated that the OSI is the most active office of its kind in the world. According to Mr. Sher, OSI has filed more than 50 cases since its creation and has stripped 18 alleged Nazi prosecutors of citizenship, secured orders of deportation against 10, and have succeeded in removing 8 persecutors from the country.
