On May 7, 2005, four days before two persons were scheduled to appear in Hernando County Circuit Court in Florida, Virgin Islands Justice Department officials removed them from the jail without a hearing or a warrant from the governor. According to court records Violet G. Armour, 58, and her daughter Deborah L. Castillo, 40, both residing in Hernando County, Florida, were wanted in the USVI on charges of embezzling and forgery.
