FATF Adopts New Standards to Combat Terrorist Financing

On October 31, 2001, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), after an extraordinary meeting on the financing of terrorism held in Washington D.C. on October 29 and 30, 2001, issued new international standards to combat terrorist financing and called on all countries of the world to adopt and implement the standards.
