Abstract:
On December 6 and 7, 2001, the European Union Justice & Home Affairs Council had its 2396th Council meeting. They reached agreement on a number of matters important for international criminal cooperation and harmonization of criminal justice & Home Affairs Council meeting. They reached agreement on a number of matters important for international criminal cooperation and harmonization of criminal justice. 14 of 15 delegations supported a Presidency compromise of a draft Framework Decision on the European arrest warrant and surrender procedures between EU members. The Council reached political agreement, subject to parliamentary scrutiny reservations by three delegations on the counter terrorism Framework Agreement. The Council adopted a Resolution concerning a handbook with recommendations for international police cooperation and measures to prevent and control violence and disturbances in connection with football matches with an international dimension, in which at least one EU member is involved.
