Abstract: 
The adoption of Security Council (SC) Resolution 1757(2007) on May 30, 2007 ended months of indecision and confusion as to the status of the proposals to establish a criminal court with an international dimension in Lebanon to try the perpetrators of political killings in the country and, in particular, the February 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Hariri.
