Italian Investigation into International Terrorism

Italian officials have recently become quite active in the investigation and prosecution of international terrorists.  Upon the completion of the successful prosecution in Italy of 14 persons involved in the Achille Lauro hijacking, Italian officials have been active in preventing terrorists from using Italy as a base of operations.
