Abstract:
On May 10, 2002 U.S. District Court Judge James A. Teilborg denied the motion Aloe Vera of America Inc. (AVA) that the court order the release of documents it sought for its wrongful disclosure suit involving a U.S.-Japan simultaneous audit. After the U.S. Internal Revenue Service proposed a simultaneous U.S.-Japan audit of AVA, the latter filed a wrongful disclosure suit against the U.S. Government, alleging that the IRS disclosed voluminous documents and information to Japanese authorities. AVA sought to compel the release of documents containing information the U.S. received from Japan during the simultaneous audit.
