"On July 30, 2008, the Serb government extradited Radovan Karadzic, the former Bosnian Serb leader facing genocide and other charges for his role in the 1992-1995 Bosnian war, to the International Criminal Tribunal for War Crimes in the Former Yugoslavia.
According to the Serb prosecutor, Vladimir Vukevic, the Serb government had masked secret service agents take Karadzic at approximately 3:45 a.m. to a plane bound for Rotterdam.
On July 29, Kvana Ramic, spokeswoman for the Serbia war crimes court handling the case, said the court had not yet received an appeal. Georan Petronijevic, who is part of the Karadzic legal team, told reporters that the account of an appeal mailed from somewhere in Serbia was a ruse to stall the extradition and allow time for Karadzic’s family to visit him in jail...[more]"
